CALIFORNIA BUILDING STANDARDS COMMISSION CODE ADVISORY COMMITTEES 2009-2011

INDUSTRY PARTICIPANTS NEEDED – DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS 12/29/2008 – PLEASE DISTRIBUTE WIDELY

The California Building Standards Commission (BSC) is reconstituting all if its code advisory committees for the next code update cycle. The BSC will appoint from design professions, the building and construction industry, the affected general public, and interested government agencies, appropriate advisory panels to advise the commission on updating the building codes.

We need members of the commercial, industrial, and retail real estate industry that understand the importance of the statewide building codes to our industry to apply for these positions.

Code Advisory Committees
1. Accessibility Committee
2. Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, and Energy Committee
3. Building, Fire, and Other Committee
4. Structural Design/Lateral Forces Committee
5. Health Facilities Committee
6. Green Building Committee – (NOTE: New Statewide Green Building Code will go from voluntary to mandatory for commercial during this update.)

Interested parties wishing to be considered must submit an application by December 29, 2008 per the instructions in the official BSC Code Advisory Committee Notice.
